About

This blog came into existence because of my fasination with photography and design, along with my passion for creative problem solving, and I suppose my borderline neurotic obsession with process and progression could have a little something to do with why I have this little ol’ blog here.

With the help of my daughter, Olive, I am nesting the 1950′s ranch home that I purchased in November 2009.  Along with upholding to my devotion toward motherhood, I am pursuing the home-improvement and DIY projects that feed my artistic and creative needs/capabilities and sharing those experiences with you all here.

Hope you enjoy!

I just found your blog not too long ago and love it. Thanks for the inspiration and giving me a little extra push to try new decorating things! Oh and my daughter’s name is Olive too. Did you get odd reactions from people too? I certainly do up here in the Midwest! Thanks again!

Awesome, thank you! Yes, we always get “Olive Oyl” or people want to think her name is Olivia. We actually ran across another, younger, little girl named Olive at the childwatch center at the YMCA in my own town! So that tells me the name Olive might just be one that’s up-and-coming. I know Oliver is topping the charts as far as boys names go. Again, thank you for the lovely comment! Happy reading :)
